We Love Barbershop!

Saw your Star Spangled Performance of the National Anthem. Simply awesome!

Thanks Randy Sink Fam!

Thanks so much, Randy! Much apprecaited... one of those "once in a lifetime" moments for sure, we're glad we could share it with our barbershop friends. :)

Chart

I was in the audience in Sarasota for your fine performance. I live in Georgia now but have been a member of the Chorus of the Keys for 57 years. My great love is writing and arranging since health issues have curbed my further singing. (bari) I have a chart that you guys could really have fun with and since you are hairless you will enjoy "Careless/Hairless" parody . The melody of course is to "Careless" which is legal. I could send you the chart and the quartet singing it. Shawn Thomas. If you're interested give me a jingle. Ed Hinkley

challange

excited to see the excitement

My husband came across this group and laughed so hard. Once he showed me the song, "Old McDonald had a deformed farm", I fell in love. I had to get on my computer right away to see if I could find more. I was able to see a few other songs on YouTube and hope to find a way to see you in person. I love barbershop music and find it hard to find excitement among my peers. To see a group take barbershop and give it that awesome comedic spice give me such hope! I can't wait to find more and more of LunchBreak's work, and hope they think about traveling to Michigan soon...You guys are awesome!

Don't try this at home.

Old MacDonald's Deformed Farm

National Anthem, Magic/Celtics Game

Wow, so this was a pretty amazing experience, singing the National Anthem for what will likely be the biggest audience we will have the privilege of standing before. This was at the Orlando Magic and the Boston Celtics game on 1/26/2012.

It was truly an honor to have had this opportunity! But what's really cool is that all across the country, men's and women's barbershop quartets and choruses are kicking off countless amateur and professional sporting events with this powerful arrangement by the great Jim Clancy of Vocal Majority fame, and each group is doing their part to spread the message of barbershop harmony to tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of new fans.

Keep it up boys and girls!

SWEET! Mabye Lunch Break has enjoyed sitting at 11th place mictester position for the past few years, but Lunch Break's website is ON THE MOVE... we are now ranked 19,755,033rd in website traffic globally.

True Story

How it all began...

Barbershop Offseason

Empty makes cat sad

It happens all across Barbershopdom: Post-Convention Depression (PCD) hits all of us. Hard. Living rooms, rehearsal halls, and concert/contest stages across the land go dark for the brief but deafeningly-quiet Barbershop Offseason, giving our vocal folds a chance to heal from the brutal thrashing many of us gave them during the week long celebration of controlled screaming that we call Internationals.

But you may be asking yourself, "...is Lunch Break yet another casualty of this weeks-long withdrawal from harmony and craft?"

Yes. But! Our creative juices are already flowing, springing forth the clumsily-mixed slop of ideas into the comedic trough from which our fans so graciously feed. We can't promise you won't find some gristle here and there, but it is served with gratitude.

For every 1,000 unfunny ideas, we might find 1 funny one, but rest assured no stone of stupidity will go unturned. And we're not above stealing, people! Well, publicly we are, but this blog is set to "private", right guys? (The best place to keep information hidden is by putting it on a quartet's website HAHAHAHAHA oh man that's funny.)

Squirrel... or something

This is what I absolutely love about barbershop: You (the quartet) works day and night on singing.. synch, vowel matching, mouth shapes, presentation, artistry, delivery. You fly/drive in/to your favorite coaches for concentrated weekend retreats. You perform weekly for your chapter or whatever small selected audience for feedback on a regular basis. You spend countless hours honing your craft...

... and the biggest takeaway from your one big shot at Internationals is a stinkin' rodent.

I love it! I really do... Honestly, we are having a difficult time wrapping our minds around just how incredible of a time we had on stage. And the love we felt from the audience was overwhelming and humbling to say the least. We are honored to have been your 2011 11th place mic-testers, and we can't wait to see what a top 10 finish feels like someday. I guess we have work to do, eh?

Congratulations to our new International Champion, Old School for their brilliant victory, and our chapter brothers TNS for their solid 8th place finish and The Real McCoy for their second appearance at Internationals. And we absolutely must thank our friends in Storm Front for the awesome shout out during their swan song set. :) you guys are the best!

We'd like to quickly thank those who helped choose us as the YouBarbershop audience favorite quartet.

And lastly, thank you to our friends for encouraging this idiocy and helping make this year's international by far the most memorable experience we've had to date.

Squirrel.

Kansas City, Here We Come

Well now, it's about that time of the year again... another International! The Barbershop Harmony Society is throwing the biggest a cappella party of the year (in the world, btw) and we're gonna set up shop and hoist a few in the name of Harmony and good old fashioned chord ringing.

It's Kansas City, and it's going to rock you. But hey, if you can't get, check out the webcast. :)
